Turkish University Signs MoU with ICCBS–University of Karachi

KARACHI: Konya Technical University (KTUN), Konya, Turkey, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, to promote joint educational, teaching, research, and cultural collaboration between the two institutions.

The agreement was signed during a ceremony held on the sidelines of the 5th Pak–Turk International Conference on Chemical Sciences (PTICCS-2025), hosted recently by ICCBS at the University of Karachi.

The MoU was inked by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director ICCBS, and Prof. Dr. Huseyin Deveci, Vice-Rector of Konya Technical University, representing their respective institutions. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Turkish and Pakistani scholars, researchers, and officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah termed the agreement a significant step toward strengthening collaboration in education, research, and cultural exchange. He said Pakistan and Turkey share longstanding historical and cultural relations, which should be further enhanced through cooperation in science, technology, and higher education. 

He added that ICCBS is among Pakistan’s leading centers of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences and serves as an international hub for training scholars from various countries.

Konya Technical University is a leading public sector higher education institution in Turkey, with a mission to develop entrepreneurial and competent individuals committed to ethical values, advance knowledge, design, and technology, and contribute to society at regional, national, and global levels.

Under the MoU, both institutions will collaborate on joint and dual degree programmes at the master’s and PhD levels, faculty and student exchange, staff training and professional development, sharing of educational resources, co-supervision of postgraduate research, joint academic events, and collaborative research projects.
