KARACHI: The International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Health Research Advisory Board (HRAB) to collaborate on joint clinical trials and research studies.
According to a spokesperson for ICCBS, the MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah, Director, ICCBS, University of Karachi, and Prof. Dr. Iqbal Afridi, Vice Chairman, HealthRAB, during a ceremony held at the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi.
Under the agreement, ICCBS and HealthRAB will jointly conduct clinical trials through the ICCBS Clinical Trial Unit. The collaboration also covers joint research activities and projects involving the ICCBS Center for AI in Health and the Center for Bioequivalence Studies and Clinical Research.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Raza Shah said the MoU aims to strengthen collaborative research in the field of clinical trials and allied health sciences. He highlighted that ICCBS is among the leading centers of excellence in chemical, biological, and biochemical sciences and plays a key role in training scholars from Pakistan and other countries.
Prof. Dr. Iqbal Afridi, in his remarks, described HealthRAB as a think tank comprising senior clinicians, researchers, and academicians working to advance healthcare research. He said the agreement would enable HealthRAB members and ICCBS researchers to work together on meaningful and impactful research initiatives aimed at improving healthcare outcomes.
