PM&DC convenes high-level meeting to tackle student concerns over 2025–26 admission policy

ISLAMABAD: Taking serious notice of recent media reports and the growing anxiety among students, the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) convened a high-level meeting at its headquarters to review the admission policy for the 2025–26 session.

The meeting brought together all key stakeholders, including PM&DC Council members, Vice Chancellors, representatives of the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), and legal experts. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, also participated as a special invitee.

The Council emphasized that the core objective of the meeting was to explore every possible solution to ensure maximum relief, clarity, and facilitation for students during this crucial phase of their academic journey. PM&DC reiterated that it considers every student as part of its own family and remains fully committed to supporting them across all platforms.

Council members clarified that while the three-year validity of the MDCAT result is legally defined and falls under the domain of Parliament, PM&DC will never compromise on the interests and future of students. The Council assured that student proposals, demands, and concerns have been carefully evaluated.

Officials further stated that the PM&DC will continue to extend full cooperation in court proceedings, ensuring that all viable and lawful options are presented with complete transparency. The court’s ruling, they said, will be final and binding on all institutions and candidates — and PM&DC will implement it fully and without exception to enable students to progress with confidence and certainty.

PM&DC reaffirmed that it stands firmly with students during this challenging time and will strive to eliminate ambiguity from the admission process to secure their academic future.
