ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) has reaffirmed its strong commitment to protecting students’ academic future, stating that every learner is an integral part of the national medical education system and their concerns will not be overlooked.
Taking serious notice of the points raised during the recent meeting of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on National Health Services, PM&DC emphasized that it fully understands the concerns of students, parents, and stakeholders — and is actively working toward practical and sustainable solutions.
The Council asserted that examination standards will remain uniform, transparent, and fair, with digitalization and standardization being further strengthened to ensure equal and merit-based opportunities for all students.
Regarding the issue of vacant seats, PM&DC informed that it is coordinating with universities and the Law Division to devise a legally sound and transparent mechanism that prevents seat wastage and ensures timely placement of eligible candidates.
To maintain fairness between Cambridge-system and local board students, PM&DC is closely collaborating with the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) to ensure equitable grade conversion and academic facilitation for all foreign-system students.
Reaffirming its vision, the Council stated:
PM&DC remains fully committed to functioning as a professional, transparent, and student-centered regulator, aligned with merit, national standards, and international benchmarks.
The Council assured all students that they will receive its complete support and their academic future will be protected without any compromise.
