LAHORE: The Pakistan Pharmacists Association (PPA) Centre and the Punjab cabinet have achieved significant and historic successes across Punjab and other provinces, creating a renewed sense of hope and confidence within the pharmacists’ community. In recognition of these achievements, former Chairman of the Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA), Hameed Raza, hosted a dignified luncheon at his residence in Fort Two, Lahore.

The event was attended by senior pharmacists, former presidents of the Pakistan Pharmacists Association, the newly elected leadership, drug inspectors, regulatory officers, and prominent political and social figures from across the country. The gathering reflected broad-based participation and solidarity within the pharmacy sector.
Prominent attendees included Prof. Dr. Atif Raza, newly elected President PPA Punjab, Rao Alamgir, newly elected Central President PPA, and former leaders Syed Khalid Saeed Bukhari, A.Q. Khokhar, and Nadeem Iqbal. Senior government and regulatory officials present at the event included Chief Drug Inspector Punjab Faisal Mahmood, Director General Health Punjab, Secretary Punjab Quality Control Board Munawar Hayat, Rana Abdul Mateen, and regional drug inspectors from Punjab and other provinces.
Members of the newly elected PPA cabinet, including Salman Tauqeer Mahmood, also attended the luncheon and described the recent success as a positive and encouraging development for the pharmacy community nationwide.
Addressing the gathering, Hameed Raza said that the pharmacy community plays a vital role not only in the pharmaceutical industry but also in clinical pharmacy and the regulatory framework. He emphasized that pharmacists and drug inspectors are the backbone of the entire system and extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected leadership.
Speaking on the occasion, Noor Muhammad Mehr termed the achievement a milestone for the pharmacy profession and expressed hope that the new leadership would play a practical and effective role in safeguarding pharmacists’ rights, enhancing professional dignity, and bringing institutional reforms.
At the conclusion of the luncheon, participants reaffirmed their commitment to unity within the pharmacy community and pledged to continue contributing actively towards strengthening Pakistan’s healthcare system, ensuring regulatory transparency, and promoting professional development.
