Punjab Nursing Directorate Orders Immediate Eviction of Unauthorized Residents from Hostels

LAHORE: The Directorate General of Nursing Services, Punjab has issued strict instructions to all Nursing Superintendents across the province to immediately remove unauthorized individuals residing in nursing hostels. The directive, issued on November 27, 2025, states that the presence of outsiders and unauthorized persons in hostels is in direct violation of the prevailing rules and SOPs meant exclusively for nursing students and duly authorized staff.

According to the letter, the department has taken notice of reports that some outsiders are living in nursing hostels under administrative control, which is “strictly contrary to the prevailing rules and SOPs.” The General Nursing Directorate has directed all concerned officials to ensure the evacuation of all unauthorized residents from hostel premises on an urgent basis.

The Nursing Superintendents have been ordered to submit a detailed report within three days, clearly mentioning the number and identity of outsiders found residing, the circumstances under which they were allowed entry, and the measures taken to prevent such violations in the future. The directive also calls for strengthened hostel management and security protocols to avoid similar incidents.

The letter further instructs that a visitor register must be updated daily, a movement register should be maintained, and SOP records must be kept on a daily basis for accountability. Copies of the directive have also been forwarded to the Secretary to the Government of Punjab, SHC&ME Department, Lahore, for information and further oversight.

The Directorate has emphasized that strict compliance is mandatory to maintain discipline and ensure that hostel accommodation remains reserved only for nursing students and authorized personnel.
