KARACHI: In a major stride toward digital governance in healthcare, the Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has partnered with the Sindh Business One Stop Shop (SBOSS) under the World Bank-funded CLICK Project to digitize the registration and licensing process for healthcare establishments across Sindh. The agreement was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two entities.
This initiative will now allow healthcare providers to register their facilities online—eliminating the need to physically visit SHCC offices—offering a streamlined, accessible, and efficient solution for healthcare professionals across the province.
Chairman SHCC, Dr. Khalid Hussain Shaikh, hailed the move as a transformative step in public service delivery. “We are proud to enter the digital age with a solution that puts accessibility and efficiency first,” he stated.
Behzad Amir Memon, Project Director CLICK, lauded the collaboration between SBOSS and SHCC, noting that this step aligns with the Government of Sindh’s broader goal of transitioning from manual to digital public services to enhance user convenience and transparency.
Dr. Ahson Qavi Siddiqi, CEO SHCC, highlighted the vision behind the digital shift. “The Board of Commissioners entrusted us with automating the registration of doctors and healthcare establishments. Thanks to the leadership of Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar, Chair of the DLA Committee, we’ve achieved this milestone at remarkable speed.” He also shared that SHCC’s broader digital transformation, through the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, is 80% complete, though further progress hinges on donor support due to current funding challenges.
Dr. Mirza Ali Azhar, Member BoC and Convener of the Committee, emphasized, “Our goal is to simplify the registration process while safeguarding the rights of both healthcare providers and the patients they serve.”
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by several senior officials, including Dr. A. Ghafoor Shoro, Ghulam Rasool Shah, Dr. Sameer Qureshi, Dr. Shoaib Ghangat, and representatives from SHCC and SBOSS.
Health Matters will continue to follow this development and its impact on the healthcare ecosystem in Sindh.
