NCSW Launches Multi-Channel GBV Complaint System and Safety Initiatives During 16 Days of Activism

ISLAMABAD: Marking the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the National Commission on the Status of Women (NCSW) has launched Pakistan’s most advanced Multi-Channel Gender-Based Violence Complaint Management System, reaffirming its commitment to protect women and girls through confidential, survivor-centered response mechanisms. The launch aligns with this year’s UN theme, “UNiTE! Invest to Prevent Violence Against Women & Girls,” and underscores national efforts to expand safe reporting pathways and strengthen justice for survivors.

In collaboration with PKCERT, NCSW also announced the soft launch of its Misinformation & Disinformation Awareness Campaign along with the Khudi Digital Safety Video Series in response to the growing surge in technology-facilitated abuse across Pakistan, including deepfake manipulation, cyberstalking, extortion, and online harassment. These initiatives are aimed at building digital awareness among women and girls and empowering them with practical skills for online safety and resilience in an increasingly tech-driven environment.

NCSW officials said the launch of these platforms during the 16 Days of Activism reflects Pakistan’s reinforced resolve to improve prevention and early-response mechanisms, promote digital literacy, counter fabricated content, and protect women from both physical and virtual threats. The new complaint system offers a survivor-focused reporting framework through an online portal, mobile application, designated walk-in centers, and an upcoming national hotline, ensuring accessibility for women from all regions and backgrounds without fear of stigma or retaliation.

The Commission stressed that the rising cases of digitally enabled violence demand collective action and investment in protective systems, responsible digital behavior, and safe online participation. NCSW pledged to continue working with national partners and institutions to expand these initiatives and ensure that Pakistani women and girls can access justice, safety, and support both offline and online.
